Why a Blog?

This is a series of observations and reflections that I will publish about our experience in our times. We warmly welcome responses and replies.

For many years I have published in conventional format books, treatises, monographs, and essays on scholarly subjects, academic concerns, and political, strategic, and economic affairs. I've chosen this new means of publishing -- the personal blog -- because, in common with so many other paradigms that once seemed absolutely, inevitable, even idyllic, we now know that traditional print, television, and radio media are severely comprised and increasingly inaccessible.

The instrument by which we here may speak with one another is owned by no one, is open to all, and need satisfy no imperatives other than candidness, clarity, generosity of spirit, and hunger for truth.
